• Video on Chemistry and States of Matter - Students will write A-Z notes on paper and turn in at the end of the video
• Begin Webquest on Matter - webquest is on paper and links to each site are found in google classroom ***this is not homework, we will work on it Friday in class

Happy Monday!! I hope you all had a great weekend despite the Browns and the Broncos losing :(

Objective:  Students will be able to read a scientific article and extract information to answer questions in an essay form.  Students will be able to draw graphs and extrapolate data from experiments.

Activities:

• Monday writing
• Graph Packet Practice - due at the end of class or else it is homework

*****At this point the airplane lab, penny lab and dot lab should all be turned in.  The lab should be turned in electronically and the graph needs to be turned in at my desk.*****

Objective: Students will be able to complete an experiment.  Students will be able to draw information from a graph and analyze data.

Activities:

• Complete Airplane lab and turn in (graph hand written and the rest of the lab on google classroom)
• Work on graphing and data analysis packet (found in google classroom)

Objective:  Students will be able to write conclusions and perform complete labs
Activities:
Finish peer editing and turn in dot lab
Write a conclusion for the penny lab, edit using conclusion edit in classroom and turn in with graph
Begin Airplane lab

Tuesday September 16th

Objective:  Students will be able to write a conclusion after conducting an experiment.
Activities:

• As a class write conclusion for the dot lab
• Individually write conclusion for penny lab
• Begin Airplane lab if time allows

Monday September 15th

Objective:  Students will be able to complete all steps of the scientific method correctly.
Activites:

• Writing Monday
• Pop Quiz on the first 4 steps of the scientific method
• Scientific Investigation Conclusion Notes
• Write Penny Lab Conclusion (complete entire lab and turn in)

Friday September 12th

Objective:  Students will be able to identify variables, write a testable question and hypothesis, perform an experiment, collect and graph data from the experiment.

Thursday September 11th

Today we will be on an assembly schedule.  During the assembly time we will go over our lockdown and other emergency procedures with our last hour class.

Objective:  Students will be able to graph data collected from a lab

Thursday September 4th

Today students will be able to identify variables, write a testable question and write an hypothesis.

• Continue with scientific investigation notes (fill-in notes and power point are located in google classroom in case you have missed any of the notes)

• If time allows, start on the Simpson's practice sheet which will be turned in for a score.

Today, students will be able to list the 6 steps of the scientific method.  Students will also be able to write a Testable Question when given a problem.

• Continue working on scientific investigation notes on Testable Question (posted Friday and in google classroom)

*****Tomorrow we will be having a quiz on CONVERSIONS and METRIC MEASUREMENTS*****  Make sure you understand conversions and have the order of prefixes memorized, you will not be able to use your notes.
