Objective:  Students will understand how humans can impact and ecosystem in both a negative and a positive way.

Objective: Students will understand the importance of decomposers in and ecosystem and the role they play.

Activities:

• Finish Owl Pellet Dissection lab and turn in through google classroom
• Make worm composting bin and learn about red wigglers

Today Mrs. Beuke will be talking to all the 7th grade students about the Signs of Suicide which is a counseling standard for 7th grade.

Objective: Students will be able to show knowledge by taking a quiz on food webs and the transfer of energy.  Students will be able to explain the life cycle of an owl.

Activities:

• Food Chains, Food Webs and Energy Transfer Quiz
• Writing Monday
• Video on Owl Life Cycle and intro to Owl Pellet dissection

Friday November 14th, 2014

Objective: Students will be able to explain the different parts of the carbon cycle and the importance of each through reading and writing quiz questions.

Activities:

• Brainpop clips on: Carbon cycle, Nitrogen cycle, Water cycle, Energy Pyramid and Food Chain
• Carbon Cycle Quiz
• In Google Classroom open Carbon Cycle Quiz document.  Each group will be assigned one slide you must become an expert on. Use the links in Google Classroom to the Discovery Techbook to learn about the Carbon Cycle (Carbon Cycle and Carbon-The Element of Surprise)
• Each group must write 5 questions AND answers on their slide that could go on a quiz.  Questions can be multiple choice, true/false, fill-in, matching, short answer, etc.  ****Make sure you write the question AND answer****
• With 15 minutes left in class each group will share what they learned about their slide

Thursday November 12th

Objective: Students will be able to identify organisms as producers, consumers, herbivores, omnivores and carnivores.

Activities:

• Finish and turn in techbook activity
• Finish Monday writing and turn in
• Make sure Oh Deer and Kaibab Plateau activities are turned in
• Watch Tedtalks and fill our tedtalks sheet

Monday November 10th

Objective:  Students will be able to draw and explain food webs, food chains and energy pyramids.

Activities:

• Students will continue working on Techbook activity.  Activity must be done by the end of class Wednesday.  Students will have half of the class period Wednesday to work on the activity.

Friday November 7th

Objective: Students will be able to draw a food web using different organisms in a community.

Thursday November 6th
